Hurricane Maria passed over the Carribean nation of Dominica last night causing massive devastation. Maria was a Category 5 storm with sustained winds of 160 miles per hour when it hit the island and its 74,000 residents.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit recorded his experience of Maria through a series of powerful facebook posts.
Hurricane Maria remains a Category 5 as it continues towards Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Maria is expected to hit Puerto Rico on Wednesday. The Commonwealth avoided a direct hit from Hurricane Irma last week but sustained damage to infrastructure. Puerto Rico just finished repairing damage to its power grid from Hurricane Irma last week.
